Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using NE Updates ("the Service") operated by NE Updates ("us," "we," or "our"). By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using NE Updates, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

NE Updates is a platform that enables freelancers and agencies to:

  • Create and manage project updates and timelines
  • Share progress reports with clients
  • Track milestones and deliverables
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Generate branded public progress reports
  • Access Business plan features including expanded storage, unlimited projects, and unlimited team members

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

3.3 Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.

4. User Content and Conduct

4.1 Content Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or share through the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

4.2 Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload, post, or transmit any content that:

  • Violates any law, regulation, or third-party right
  • Is defamatory, harassing, abusive, or threatening
  • Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Infringes intellectual property rights
  • Contains confidential information without authorization
  • Is pornographic, obscene, or offensive

4.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or disable access to any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion.

5. Subscription Plans and In-App Purchases

5.1 Available Plans

NE Updates offers the following subscription plan:

Business Plan

  • Storage up to 10 GB
  • Unlimited projects
  • Unlimited team members
  • Priority customer support
  • Advanced reporting and analytics

The Business Plan is available as a monthly or annual subscription. Pricing details are displayed in the app at the time of purchase. Prices are listed in your local currency as determined by Google Play or the applicable app store.

5.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are billed in advance and automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize us (through Google Play or the applicable app store) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Subscription fees will be charged to your Google Play account or Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. You will be charged for the renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

5.3 Free Trial

We may offer a free trial for the Business Plan. If a free trial is offered, the duration will be clearly stated before you subscribe. At the end of the free trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your payment method will be charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You will not receive a refund for any portion of the first paid billing period if you cancel after the trial converts to a paid subscription.

5.4 How to Cancel Your Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access to Business Plan features until then. To cancel:

  • Android: Open Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → NE Updates → Cancel Subscription
  • iOS: Open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → NE Updates → Cancel Subscription
  • Email: Contact us at support@neupdates.com

Deleting the app does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel through the platform store to stop future charges.

5.5 Refund Policy

All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or as provided by Google Play's or Apple's refund policies. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us at support@neupdates.com or submit a refund request directly through Google Play or the App Store. We reserve the right to grant refunds on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.

5.6 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price changes via email or in-app notification. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period following the notice. Your continued use of the Service after the price change takes effect constitutes your agreement to pay the updated amount.

5.7 Downgrade to Free Plan

Upon cancellation or expiration of your Business Plan subscription, your account will revert to the free plan with its associated limitations. Data exceeding the free plan storage limit may become inaccessible until you either reduce your storage usage or resubscribe to a paid plan. We will notify you before any data is removed.

5.8 Payment Processing

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) via RevenueCat, our subscription management platform. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to the terms of service of the applicable app store and RevenueCat. We do not directly store your payment card information.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Service Ownership

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by NE Updates and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Trademarks

The NE Updates name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of NE Updates. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

7. Mobile Applications

7.1 App Store Terms

If you download our mobile application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your use of the app is also subject to the terms and conditions of those platforms. In-app purchases made through Google Play are governed by Google Play's Terms of Service. In-app purchases made through the App Store are governed by Apple's Terms and Conditions.

7.2 App Updates

We may update our mobile applications from time to time. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security improvements. You are responsible for keeping your app updated. Certain features, including subscription functionality, may require an up-to-date version of the app.

7.3 Google Play Developer Policy Compliance

Our Android application complies with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, including policies related to in-app purchases, subscriptions, and recurring billing. All subscription offerings are clearly disclosed in the app prior to purchase.

8. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service
  • Perform scheduled or emergency maintenance
  • Change features, functionality, or pricing

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes when possible.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NE Updates SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NE Updates and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the Service or contacting us at support@neupdates.com. Account termination does not automatically cancel any active subscriptions — please cancel your subscription separately through Google Play or the App Store before deleting your account.

11.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. In the event of termination due to our actions without cause, we will provide a prorated refund for any unused portion of a prepaid subscription period.

11.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. We may delete your account and data, subject to our data retention policies and legal obligations.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration or the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For changes that materially affect your subscription or billing, we will provide at least 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
